Description
A magnificent, large-fruited 19th-century American heritage variety that thrives exceptionally well in the UK climate, especially in wetter regions due to its strong natural resistance to apple scab.
It is a triploid, so makes a fairly vigorous tree. The apples make great eating - crisp, sweet, honeyed, can be cooked with no additional sugar needed. Also makes great juice. Highly recommended by a friend of ours, who has one growing in his front garden in West Dorset.
