First recorded at the Bath and West show in 1895. This old variety originates from the Martock area of Somerset and is related to Porter's Perfection, Kingston Black and Cap of Liberty. It is reputed to make an excellent cider. It is a vigorous variety, producing biennial but decent crops. Flowering mid to late May and fruit matures November.
