Description
A classic, very old eating apple, originally found in a wood in Nottinghamshire in the 18th century. It was widely grown in the Victorian period and produces a lovely, handsome apple. Can still be found in old orchards in the north and midlands, it has rich, dry flesh, similar to a Blenheim Orange. Reputedly has somewhat frost-resistant blossom.
