Raised by Mr G.T. Spinks, Long Ashton Research Station, Bristol in 1947. This was a seedling raised from a Dabinett/Stoke Red cross and had high expectatinos as an early bittersweet. It is a precocious, midseason flowering variety. Fruits are of medium size and firm. Produces juice with low acidity , high sugar and medium tannin.
